Mark 11:24 NIV

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

I love Mark 11:24, because, again, this is a “state of mind” verse. A lot of prosperity preachers use this verse in encouraging others in attaining things, this verse is so much more than that. When you know your calling, and you’ve heard God give you instructions, there are times down the road you are going to have to ask him for help. A great example:

1 Kings 17:21-22 NIV

21Then he stretched himself out on the boy three times and cried out to the Lord, “Lord my God, Let this boy’s life return to him!” 22The Lord heard Elijah’s cry, and the boys life returned to him, and he lived.

In this moment Elijah had been staying with a widow and her son. Elijah had shown the widow he was a servant of God by performing miracles that kept her food from running out, so in this prayer to the Lord he using his authority, the same authority given to all of us, to ask the Lord to bring back this widow’s little boy.

Mark 11:24 is again a blue print leading back to stories of answered prayers, but also a step forward in reminding us that we have the power and authority to pray and ask for miracles (Romans 8:11); and to allow others to experience the act of a miracle.  Can you imagine how life changing it was for the widow to see such a  miracle being performed? Seeing that would be much more greater than seeing her son a live again. She has just witnessed the irrefutable power of God. WOW!

Romans 8:11 NIV

And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.
